I was motivated by the aspect of thinking spatially and the study of human geography in the way in which we live in spaces. We subconsciously incorporate spatial thinking into our every day movements - such as the way we decorate our bedrooms or pack our bags - and I wanted to document and capture the way people act on autopilot within domestic / shared areas.
The first image was submitted as my final piece of work for the Spatial Practices unit at University. It is a grid of 9 images documenting the same area with a repetitive focal point to create an aspect of continuity. The aim is to showcase how much one area can change over time from an observes point of view and how we act as if we are on autopilot within these spaces.
The second image is a draft outcome of an ethical study associated with my project which focuses on 6 different locations with the same focal point. This was not submitted as a final piece but it did help me to develop my ideas and research further.
